Mr. Cooper attended Berry College in Rome, GA and the University of Georgia in Athens. He graduated from UGA in 2018 with a Bachelors of Arts in Music Education. Focusing on choral education, he completed 3 practicums and 1 semester of student teaching with middle and high school chorus programs.
Throughout his college career, Mr. Cooper music directed 2 cabarets and 2 musicals with Next Act Musical Theatre, performed with the UGA Wind Symphony on French horn, gave voice lessons to first-year theatre students, and continued choral accompaniment for schools in Georgia's District XIV.
Mr. Cooper is currently in his eighth year of teaching. He has spent the last three years at Couch Middle School, in Grayson. His groups have received Superior and Excellent ratings in Performance and Sight Reading at Large Group Performance Evaluation. Mr. Cooper utilizes rote and notation methods to teach music, incorporating a variety of languages into day-to-day vocal repertoire.
Since 2013, Chase has acted as a choral accompanist for numerous churches in Northeast Georgia and multiple school ensembles in Districts XIII and XIV. In 2022, he had the honor of accompanying the High School Treble Choir at District XIV’s Honor Chorus.
Chase is an avid lover of the arts. In 2020, he wrote and produced his original youth musical, Dreamer. He enjoys being involved in community theatre programs, participating in art competitions with his family, and singing in festival choirs at church.
